Porcelain Pottery Ewer with Ascending Leaves

$220.00

This is a signature shape of mine. I've been doing it for over 21 years. This version is a smaller version of a Greek pouring ewer. I throw it and alter it by cutting away the rim and adding the handle. At that point I carve the leaves in to the clay. The body is glazed with my signature combination of a crackle celadon and metallic. This is a very sexy shape and can work as a vase or stand alone on the mantle or in a grouping. I have deliberately made it heavy on the bottom so it isn't tippy. Not recommended as a serving jug. Approximately 11" tall. Signed, "Sullivan, Canada" on the bottom.
